SVSU Cardinal Formula Racing finishes as top undergraduate team for 3rd straight year; Places 6th in the world in acceleration
The Saginaw Valley State University Cardinal Formula Race team sped its way to another impressive performance, posting the top score among exclusively undergraduate programs for the third consecutive year at the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers Collegiate Design Series May 10-13 at Michigan International Speedway. SVSU placed 45th overall among the 120 colleges and universities from across the world who competed. The Cardinals finished ahead of schools such as Michigan Tech (No. 51), Penn State (No.63) and Purdue (No. 67).

A Saginaw Valley State University student with a passion for public speaking recently continued an impressive streak in earning honors for his ability. Erik Breidinger was named winner of SVSU's 27th Annual Sims Public Speaking Competition in November. The victory earned him $400. The title of his presentation was "Feeling Lucky? The Descent into Google-ocracy."

SVSU engineering students to showcase projects
Thirty-two Saginaw Valley State University students will demonstrate a practical approach to mechanical engineering design during the SVSU Summer 2016 Engineering Showcase. Poster presentations and live demonstrations are planned for the showcase Friday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon in the first floor lobby of SVSU's Pioneer Hall. Students also will present their projects individually from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Pioneer 245 and Pioneer 247.
